The institution that is the Cuckfield Easter Walking Race returns this year on Easter Monday 13th April. Organised by the Independent State of Cuckfield, the event is almost 100 years old and is based on an approximately five mile road course around Cuckfield and Ansty.

The race starts and finishes at the Rugby Club on Whitemans Green and is open to anyone aged 16 and over. With a deviously complex handicapping system there are a number of trophies up for grabs depending on your ability, gender or speed. It’s a perfect way to burn off all those chocolate calories and to take in the spring sights around Cuckfield.

Entry is just £2 per person plus there is a free easter egg hunt for the kids. Walkers should register at the rugby club from 9.30am for a 10am start. The egg hunt starts from 10.30am. For more details visit www.facebook.com/independentstateofcuckfield or email: info@cuckfieldstate.org.
